Carolyn F. Miller, age 90, of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 27, 1935, in Auburn, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ora M. and Harriet A. Shoudel. Carolyn was a 1953 graduate of Auburn High School.

Carolyn devoted many years of her career to Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, where she was known for her kind spirit and strong work ethic. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of Auburn Church of the Nazarene and loved her church family dearly.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply and found great joy in the time she spent with them. Carolyn enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. Musically gifted, she shared her talents through her beautiful singing voice and her ability to play both the piano and the saxophone—gifts that brought joy to many throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, George Miller of Auburn; children, Kim (Jim) Miller of Newark, Ohio, Craig (Kerri) Stump of Fredericktown, Ohio, Jeff (Glenda) Stump of Fredericktown, Ohio, Julie (Shawn) Cook of Georgetown, Tennessee, Eric Stump of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Kurt Stump of Fredericktown, Ohio; George’s children, Terry Miller of Auburn, Daniel (Tina) Miller of Waterloo, Nora (Scott) Place of Olivet, Michigan, Kristine (Thomas) Gruwell of LaOtto, and Brian (Connie) Miller of Garrett; many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, John (Diana) Shoudel of Roanoke, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Stump; her parents; grandson, Matthew Stump; and daughter-in-law, Trisha Miller.

A memorial service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Auburn Church of the Nazarene, 2301 N. Main Street, Auburn, Indiana. Pastor Doug Thomas will be officiating.
