Mount Vernon, OH – Randy L. Heintzman, age 76, passed away on October 23, 2025.
He was born on July 30, 1949, in Akron, Ohio to the late Harry M. and Gloria (Scheneman) Heintzman. He graduated from Barberton High School in 1967 where he met his wife, Rebecca “Becky” (Bishop) Heintzman. He and Becky were married on September 5th, 1971 and they were married for 54 years.
Randy had a mechanical mind and a lifelong love of working with his hands—he could fix nearly anything. Following an apprenticeship with Firestone in Akron, OH, he found joy tinkering with cars. He later built a rewarding career as a home inspector and business owner of Maywood Home Services. He enjoyed fishing, good food, good conversation, euchre, Jack Daniels as well as boat rides on Kentucky Lake. His life’s path carried him to Columbus, OH; Spartanburg, SC; Athens, OH; Georgetown, KY; Owensboro, KY; and Mocksville, NC before finding his final home close to family in Mount Vernon, OH.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Reynolds; and sister-in-law, Constance “Connie” Heintzman. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky”; children, Ella (Derrick) Hochstetler of Doylestown, Sarah Heintzman (Chad Kostka) of Columbus, Richard “Rick” (Hope) Heintzman of Farmville, VA; grandchildren, Haley Hochstetler, Ian Hochstetler, and Samuel “Sam” Kostka; brother, Terry Heintzman of Canal Fulton; sister, Connie (Jon) Hamlin of State Road, NC; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230. After a few celebrational moments of Randy’s life by the family at 12 p.m. a procession will move to St. Michael’s Cemetery in Marshallville for a committal service and inurnment.
