On September 18, twenty-three members of the Mt. Vernon FFA attended the 2025 Farm Science Review at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio. The event is an annual gathering that attracts over 100,000 visitors from across the United States and Canada. It features 600 exhibitors and more than 4,000 product lines, as well as educational sessions led by specialists from Ohio State University.
During their visit, students explored the Gwynne Conservation Area, a 67-acre site focused on agricultural and natural resource management practices. They interacted with conservation experts to learn about wetlands, wildlife food plots, riparian forests, crop tree plantings, and other methods that promote sustainable farming. The group also visited an all-season log cabin used for classes and demonstrations.
FFA members observed live field demonstrations that showcased new developments in agriculture such as harvesting equipment, drone technology, tillage practices, nutrient and lime applications, and drainage systems. The exhibit area covered 100 acres and was surrounded by another 600 acres of demonstration fields. This allowed students to see firsthand how technology and conservation are influencing modern farming.
According to organizers: "The Farm Science Review gave Mt. Vernon FFA members an exciting opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, while gaining valuable insight into conservation practices, career paths, and innovations in the agricultural industry."
