Mount Vernon High School is set to host the annual Licking County League (LCLeads) Student-Athlete Leadership Event on Thursday, September 4. The event will take place at the Energy Fieldhouse and will gather six student-athlete leaders from each of the 12 member schools for a day focused on leadership development.

The program includes presentations by several speakers and organizations. Among those scheduled are representatives from the Army National Guard, the Mount Vernon Police Department, Doug Ute—Executive Director of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA)—and Otis Winston, who is known as a former Ohio State athlete, actor, and author.

According to organizers, "The LCLeads event continues to provide student-athletes with valuable tools to strengthen leadership, build character, and foster connections across the Licking County League."
