Parents of children entering kindergarten this fall are encouraged to enroll their child in the Fredericktown Safety Town program, a fun and informative event designed to help young students prepare for school and learn essential safety skills.
Open to all students entering kindergarten in the 2025–2026 school year, the program will run from July 28 through July 31, with sessions held each evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Fredericktown Elementary School, located at 111 Stadium Drive, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019.
Throughout the four-day program, children will engage in age-appropriate lessons and hands-on activities focused on safety at school, at home, and in the community. Topics often include pedestrian safety, fire prevention, stranger danger, bicycle safety, and more—all taught in a supportive and engaging environment.
The week will culminate with a graduation ceremony on Friday, August 1, at 5:30 p.m., where students will be recognized for their participation and new skills.
Registration is open now through July 14. Parents or guardians can enroll their child by emailing Stacey Bellman, program director, at fredericktownsafetytown@gmail.com. The following information should be included in the email: your child’s first and last name, parent/guardian’s name, phone number, address, any food allergies or concerns, and permission to photograph your child during the program.
Each participant is asked to bring a plain white shirt for a special craft project during the week.
The Fredericktown Safety Town program offers a warm, welcoming introduction to school and aims to empower incoming kindergartners with the knowledge and confidence to stay safe as they begin their educational journey.
