Fredericktown FFA announced that its members recently attended the 97th Ohio FFA State Convention at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.
According to Fredericktown FFA, the convention gathered chapters from across the state to recognize achievements and celebrate growth within the organization. The event featured leadership workshops, a career show, and sessions with motivational speakers who discussed topics such as leadership, community impact, and making thoughtful decisions.
At the convention, several Fredericktown FFA members received honors for their leadership. Three officers earned gold ratings for their outstanding work. Allissya Dugan received the State Gold Secretary Award, Maddie Bartlett was awarded the State Gold Treasurer Award, and Austin Frazier was honored with the State Gold Reporter Award. These awards were based on leadership, record-keeping, and evaluations by District and State FFA. Members also explored the FFA Career Show under the guidance of FFA Advisor Debra Burden. Attendees included Lauren Neighbarger, Izzy Broerman, Allissya Dugan, Jordyn Neighbarger, Austin Frazier, Austin Robinson, Lane Dugan, Raegan Blanchard, Mason Gearheart, and Maddie Bartlett.
Fredericktown High School is located in Fredericktown, Ohio, in Knox County. It serves students in grades 9 through 12 as part of the Fredericktown Local School District. The school offers extracurricular activities including 30 athletic teams and clubs as well as 34 outdoor and after-school programs. It provides 14 STEAM courses focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics with a goal of supporting comprehensive student development.
FFA stands for Future Farmers of America and is a youth organization focused on developing leadership skills along with personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Founded in 1928, it prepares members for careers in agriculture among other fields. With local chapters led by student officers and agriculture teachers, FFA operates at local, state, and national levels providing hands-on learning experiences according to the National FFA Organization.
