Mount Vernon High School is preparing to blend culture and musical talent for a special evening of entertainment and community spirit. The MVHS Choir will host its annual spring showcase, May Fiesta: The Final Bow, on Saturday, May 10—a celebration of both the choir’s hard work throughout the school year and the rich flavors of Latin cuisine.
Guests will be welcomed as doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the evening’s events running from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The celebration will begin with a festive dinner in the high school gymnasium, catered by local favorite Pancho’s Tacos. The menu promises authentic Mexican dishes that pair perfectly with the high-energy theme of the night.
Following dinner, the second half of the event will move to the high school theater, where the MVHS Choir will take the stage for their final performance of the academic year.
Known for their musical versatility and professionalism, the MVHS Choir showcases students from all grade levels, under the direction of choir director Jillian Sabo. The program typically includes a mix of classical choral pieces, contemporary selections, and student solos, making it one of the most anticipated performances of the school year.
Mount Vernon High School has a strong tradition of supporting the arts, and its choir program has consistently earned high marks at district and state competitions. The May Fiesta event not only serves as a showcase of talent but also as a fundraiser to support future music department activities and travel opportunities.
Tickets are $20 for dinner and the performance, or $5 for performance-only admission. Seating is limited, and early reservations are recommended. Community members can reserve tickets or find out more by calling 740-393-5900 ext. 5643.
This year’s May Fiesta promises an evening of great food, outstanding music, and community celebration.
