Herren goes 3-for-3 as Centerburg Softball defeats East Knox

Abby Herren led Centerburg to an 11-0 victory over East Knox on Thursday, going 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

According to the game report, Herren initiated the Trojans' scoring with a first-inning RBI single. She followed up with a double that drove in a run during a seven-run second inning and capped her performance with a solo home run in the third inning.

Centerburg expanded their lead significantly in the second inning. Jazmyn Larimore contributed with an RBI groundout, Taylor Bryant added an RBI single, and both Morgan Beaver and Lydia Gribben drew bases-loaded walks. Lexie Moore furthered the scoring with a sacrifice fly.

The Trojans continued their offensive momentum in the third inning with Herren's home run and an RBI single from Harley Webb. Beaver secured the win as the starting pitcher, delivering three scoreless innings while allowing three hits, striking out four batters, and issuing no walks. Jeannae Dial completed the game by pitching two hitless innings in relief.

East Knox's starting pitcher Ava Faucett took the loss after giving up eight runs—seven of which were earned—on six hits over 1 2/3 innings. She recorded one strikeout and six walks.

Chesnee Fairall contributed two hits for Centerburg, while Sydnee Schoonover drew two walks. The Trojans demonstrated patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks overall. Larimore also stole two bases during the game.

Defensively, Centerburg played without errors, led by Hannah Harry who managed five fielding chances successfully. For East Knox, Cloe Tucker, Kenlie Moore, and Lydia Hill each registered a hit.

With this win, Centerburg continues its strong season marked by effective performances both offensively and defensively.
