Freddies dominate Bexley in 10-3 victory

The Fredericktown Freddies demonstrated their formidable presence this season with a decisive 10-3 victory over the Bexley Lions on Saturday.

According to the game report, after an initial score by Bexley in the first inning, Fredericktown quickly shifted the momentum. Brode Davis, Grady Mills, and Kaiden Gibson each contributed RBI singles in the second inning, advancing Fredericktown to a 3-1 lead and setting the tone for the remainder of the game. The team maintained pressure in the third inning as Davis grounded into a double play that added another run, followed by Mills' single down the right field line to further extend their lead.

Fredericktown's pitching staff performed consistently throughout. Nic LaFevre secured the win in relief, allowing just one run on two hits over 2 1/3 innings while striking out two batters. Vince Lavin provided a solid start, and Davis concluded with a scoreless frame, striking out two and permitting only one hit.

Offensively, Fredericktown was efficient at bat with 11 hits. Zane Luckmeier led from the cleanup spot, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Mills, Beeman, and Luckmeier each had multi-hit games. The team also displayed aggressiveness on base paths with four stolen bases.

Defensively, Fredericktown played without errors. Carter Mull led defensively with seven chances in the field.

Despite a challenging day for Bexley, Feldmann emerged as a positive note by driving in two runs and going 1-for-2. The Lions managed eight hits and showed patience by drawing six walks.

With this victory, Fredericktown aims to maintain their winning streak as they prepare to host East Knox on Monday.
