The Mount Vernon High School Key Club is proud to host an upcoming Red Cross Blood Drive.

Students and community members are invited to participate in this blood-letting event. It will be on Tuesday, April 29 at the Grand Hotel on the Square, Downtown Mount Vernon, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  

The Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donations, and this event provides the perfect opportunity to step up and contribute to a vital cause. By reaching the school's goal of 26 donors, participants will also be helping Mount Vernon High School seniors qualify for the largest scholarship award presented to MVHS.

According to the American Red Cross there are several types of blood donation. One of which is the whole blood donation.

"The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of 'whole blood' is given," the Red Cross website reads. "This type of blood donation
