Fredericktown boys track team takes first at London Relays

The Fredericktown High School boys’ track and field team delivered a commanding performance at the London Relays, securing first place with 110 points.

The Freddies excelled in both track and field events, with standout performances in distance and relay races. In the 4x1600 relay, Noah Smith led the team with a time of 4:45.3, followed by Anson Wenger (4:58.5), Lincoln Snyder (5:07.1), and Gideon Rashley (5:28.1).

The 4x200 relay team, consisting of Blake Sipes, Elijah Snow, Elijah Roush, and Tanner Estep, clocked a time of 1:33.93. Meanwhile, the 4x800 relay team of Caleb Smith, Darren Hartley, Lincoln Snyder, and Noah Smith finished with a time of 9:28.65.

In the field events, Blake Sipes cleared 5 feet, 8 inches in the high jump, while Gavin Toombs followed with 5 feet, 4 inches. In shot put, Coan Frazier recorded a mark of 35 feet, 6 inches, and Rylan Levering-Smith reached 34 feet, 5 inches.

Evan Maggard excelled in the discus event with a throw of 123 feet, 6 inches. Levi Platt led the long jump with a mark of 14 feet, 9 inches.

“This was our first meet of the season,” said head coach Will Hartley. “We took first place as a team out of eight total teams. It was a great way to start the season with many first- and second-place finishes. 

The Freddies’ dominant performance secured them the top spot among eight competing teams.
