With a deep passion for track and field and a history of success as an athlete, Fredericktown boys track head coach Will Hartley is eager to lead the Freddies into the 2025 season.
Hartley, a former standout at Clear Fork High School and Baldwin Wallace University, has always been drawn to the sport and finds fulfillment in coaching. "I enjoy everything about the sport," Hartley said. "It’s great to see individuals and the team grow throughout the season."
According to Hartley, this year Fredericktown boasts a roster of 46 athletes, bringing both depth and potential. He is especially excited about his distance runners, who return with significant talent and experience. However, he notes that the sprinting group will need to step up after the team lost key contributors to graduation.
Among the athletes to watch this season is senior Brandon Hogg, the reigning league champion in the pole vault and a state qualifier who finished 12th at last year’s state meet. Seniors Noah Smith and Aiden McManis will also play key roles in leading the distance team.
Hartley expects noticeable improvement in the throwing events, where he says the Freddies have continued to develop. "We continue to improve in our throwing events and will be much more competitive this year," Hartley said.
With a strong group of returners and new talent ready to step up, the Fredericktown boys track team is poised for a competitive season. Hartley and the Freddies are focused on growth, hard work, and making an impact on the track this spring.
