Landon Dawson, a promising football player from Mount Vernon High School, has received his second Division I scholarship offer and his first from a Power Four program.
According to reports, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound tight end and linebacker from the class of 2028 impressed Purdue University coaches during a workout held earlier this week. Dawson caught the attention of Purdue offensive coordinator Coach Henson and tight ends coach Coach Spurlock, who were both present to evaluate talent. Following the workout, Purdue extended a full-ride scholarship offer to the talented underclassman.
This latest offer marks a significant milestone for Dawson, who continues to build a strong recruiting profile early in his high school career. His size, athleticism, and versatility on both sides of the ball have made him a player to watch in the coming years.
The Mount Vernon community has expressed strong support for Dawson, celebrating the achievement with congratulations to both the Dawson family and MVHS head coach Mark Weber. Coaches and supporters alike praised Dawson’s work ethic and determination, emphasizing that continued focus and humility will open even more doors in the future.
