Anthony (Tony) Giampaolo, 85, previously of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2025, in his current home of Goodyear, AZ, surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years.

Tony was born to Vincenzo and Rose Giampaolo in Glen Cove, NY. After graduating from Xavier High School in New York City in 1958, he went on to study engineering at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. In 1977, Tony was hired by Cooper Besmer, and he and his family moved to Mount Vernon.

Eventually, Tony started the company Power & Compression Systems and worked as a consultant for various businesses and governmental agencies, including NASA. Above all, Tony was a family man. He was always happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Tony was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Giampaolo, and his sister, Loretta Giampaolo.

He is survived by his wife, Gay Giampaolo; sons Vincent (Amy) Giampaolo of Richmond, VA; Frank (Linda) Giampaolo of Laguna Niguel, CA; and Gary (Tina) Giampaolo of Goodyear, AZ; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association. A Mass and memorial service in Southern California are being planned for the summer of 2025. Tony’s friends and family are encouraged to submit photographs and leave comments and remembrances at dignitymemorial.com.
