The Fredericktown Freddies continued their impressive start to the season with a 51-46 victory over the Licking Valley Panthers on December 27. This win advances Fredericktown's record to 8-1, highlighting their strong performance in the early stages of the season.
According to reports, Fredericktown was propelled by senior guard Cally Carpenter, who scored a game-high 26 points and contributed five steals. Her offensive efforts were pivotal in allowing the Freddies to gain an advantage in the second half.
Ella Bouton also played a key role for Fredericktown, adding 12 points along with seven rebounds, seven steals, and four blocks. Her defensive skills and versatility were evident throughout the game. The Freddies ended with 26 rebounds, just one short of Licking Valley's total of 27; however, their defense and ball control proved decisive.
Licking Valley put up a strong fight but struggled against Fredericktown's scoring and defensive pressure, particularly from Carpenter and Bouton. Despite showing resilience, the Panthers could not overcome the balanced attack of the Freddies.
Fredericktown is scheduled to face Triway High on December 30. Triway currently holds a record of 3-7.
