Blake Sipes eyes down his wide receiver for a pass | Curt Conrad

The Fredericktown Freddies fell to the Northmor Knights Sept. 27, 19-6. Fredericktown gave the undefeated Knights their biggest challenge of the year, as the game was a defensive battle.

Northmor struggled offensively against the Freddies' defense the whole game, especially compared to previous games this season.

After a scoreless first quarter, Northmor running back Cowin Becker scored the Knights' first touchdown of the night on a 33-yard run.

Following a four-and-out by Fredericktown, Northmor wide receiver Carson Campbell completed a 13-yard jet run play and ended up in the endzone. Fredericktown went into the locker room down 12-0.

Campbell scored again coming out of the half on another run, this time for 29 yards, ending in the end zone. The score put Fredericktown down 19-0 after AJ Bowers scored the extra point through the uprights.

Fredericktown avoided a scoreless game when they scored in the fourth on a Blake Sipes 46-yard run.

Overall, Fredericktown’s defense did an amazing job, holding the Northmor offense to only 19 points in four quarters, and 32 yards passing. Bowers, Northmor’s quarterback, is known to throw for over 200-300 yards in games, so this was a great performance by the Freddies' secondary.

Sipes completed 8 of 15 passes for 74 yards, while also running for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Fredericktown will travel to Loudonville to take on the Redbirds who have yet to win a game this season.
