The Kenyon College women’s lacrosse team was named a 2024 Academic Honor Squad, and eight of its players were on the Academic Honor Roll list.

According to a release by Kenyon College, the honors are through the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), which named 324 women’s lacrosse programs across all divisions of the NCAA and NAIA. Teams needed a combined GPA of 3.20 or better for the 2023-24 school year, and Kenyon College had a GPA of 3.49. This is the 11th consecutive time they won the award, and 14th in 16 seasons.

Seniors Maddie Garner, Lauren Gilbert, Ali Hatfield, Eva Hitt, Annabel Ives and Sam Lee made Academic Honor Roll. Juniors Mallory Brophy and Blythe Karras were also named. It was the second straight year for Garner, Gilbert, Hatfield, Ives and Lee. The past two years have been solid for the Owls, as the total of eight making the list is second only to last season’s total of 10 players.

Last season the Owls were 8-8, went 3-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, and appeared in the NCAC tournament for the third straight time.
