The East Knox baseball team went 19-5 and were 10-2 to take the KMAC title, which was their first league title since 2017 when they won the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference.
It was a highly successful season for the Bulldogs, who were the fourth seed in the Division III district tournament, and made it to the semifinal before losing to Newark Catholic. Much of this success was thanks to a group of All-KMAC players who led the way offensively, defensively and on the pitcher’s mound.
Bryar Householder had himself a dominant senior year and was named first team All-KMAC. He went 6-0 and did not let up an earned run all season. Householder batted .490 with three homers, and a slugging percentage of .796. He was named first team All-KMAC, second team All-Central District and second team All-Ohio.
Senior second baseman Caden Wengerd was first team All-KMAC in a season where he hit .329 with 17 RBIs. Seniors Bracen Davis and Josh Keith were second team All-KMAC> Davis had a .289 batting average and showed off his speed with 12 steals, and Josh Keith put in some solid work on the mound with a 1.19 ERA.
Catcher Derrick Field threw out eight of 11 runners and was named honorable mention for All-KMAC and All-Central District. Josh Keith was All-Academic this season, as well.
