The Mount Gilead boys’ track and field team placed fifth and the girls were ninth out of 20 teams at the Hank Smith Invitational meet on April 13 at Heath High School.

Boys highlights

Will Baker was the top athlete of the day for the Indians, making the podium twice by placing second in the 3200 meters and third in the 1600 meters.

100 meters: Logan High was seventh with a time of 11.71.

200 meters: High clocked in at 23.86, just missing the podium in fourth place.

400 meters: Quade Harris was fifth with a time of 53.38.

800 meters: Liam Stalnaker was 10th with a time of 2:11.47.

1600 meters: Will Baker won the bronze medal with a time of 4:31.82.

3200 meters: Baker won silver with a time of 9.33.95.

110 meter hurdles: Tae Davis was fifth with a time of 17.25.

300 meter hurdles: Wyatt Mowry was 12th with a time of 45.45.

4x200 meters: Mount Gilead won the silver with a time of 1:33.43. The team included Collin Gabriel, High, Jonathan Miller and Harris.

4x400 meters: The Indians were sixth with a time of 3:39.47. The team consisted of High, Baker, Miller and Harris.

4x800 meters: Mount Gilead was ninth with a time of 9:32.65. The team included Wyatt Mowry, Joshua Davis, Tommy Emberg and Nolan Hershner.

Shot put: Joey Baldwin was fifth with a time of 43 feet, eight inches.

Discus: Baldwin was seventh with a time of 116 feet, 9 inches.

High jump: Josh Burnaugh placed 11th with a time of five feet, two inches.

Pole vault: Kasen Wallace was fifth with a time of 11 feet, six inches.

Long jump: Elias Bulkowski placed 19th with a time of 17 feet.

Girls highlights

Abby Leonhard led the Indians in the meet, making the podium with a third throw in the discus to take the bronze medal.

100 meters: Faith White placed 15th with a time of 14.27

200 meters: Danielle Pohlkotte was 11th with a time of 29.35.

400 meters: Sophie Mosher was 20th with a time of 1:10.06.

800 meters: Haley Pfeifer placed 18th with a time of 2:54.39.

1600 meters: Kimberly Staley was sixth with a time of 5:44.60.

110 meter hurdles: Darbie Dillon was sixth with a time of 18.15.

300 meter hurdles: Dillon was 14th with a time of 54.64.

4x100 meters: Mount Gilead was sixth with a time of 54.48. The team included Mackenzie Mosier, Natalie Waugh, White and Pohlkotte.

4x200 meters: The Indians were ninth with a time of 1:56.76. The team included Dillon, Kendall Neal, White and Pohlkotte.

4x400 meters: Mount Gilead was 14th with a time of 4:57.08. The team included Dillon, Olivia Long, Baylee Snyder and Kendall Neal.

4x800 meters: Mount Gilead was eighth with a time of 11:28.96. The team included Haley Pfeifer, Addison Rogers, Sophie Mosher and Kimberly Staley.

Shot put: Abby Leonhard was fifth with a toss of 29 feet, 3.5 inches.

Discus: Leonhard was third with a toss of 107 feet, 10.5 inches.

High jump: Danielle Pohlkotte was third with a height of four feet, eight inches.

Pole vault: Kenlee Trainer was 10th with a height of seven feet, nine inches.

Long jump: Sophie Mosher was 19th with a time of 14 feet.
