The Mount Gilead track and field teams traveled to a four team meet at Highland High School on April 9, with the boys’ team taking the top spot, and the girls being runners up behind Highland.
The meet also included Centerburg and Mansfield Christian and top performers are below.

100 meters: Logan High of Mount Gilead won the gold with a time of 11.54 Centerburg’s Mason Turske took the silver with a time of 11.64 and Highland’s Brandon Newsome had bronze with a time of 11.81.
200 meters: Mount Gilead filled the podium with High winning gold with a time of 23.11; Quade Harris with silver and a time of 23.48; and Jonathan Miller with bronze posting a time of 23.80.
400 meters: Zane Sheets of Highland took the gold with a time of 56.02. Mansfield Christian’s Isaiah Krause was second with a time of 56.32. Aron West of Highland was third with a time of 57.75.
800 meters: Mount Gilead swept the podium in this event, as well. Owen Hershner led the way with a time of 2:14.31; Will Baker was second with a time of 2:16.84 and Parker Bartlett clocked in at 2:20.30 for the bronze.
Mile: Will Baker of Mount Gilead took first place with a time of 4:38.87. Centerburg’s Greg Beard was second with a time of 4:43.65. Bartlett of Mount Gilead was third with a time of 4:45.93.
110 meter hurdles: Tae Davis of Mount Gilead took first with a time of 16.28. Toby Rogers of Highland was second with a time of 17.26 and Carson Barnum of Mount Gilead placed third with a time of 19.16.
300 meter hurdles: Highland’s Toby Rogers took first with a time of 43.84; Wyatt Mowry of Mount Gilead was second with a time of 44.32 and Davis of Mount Gilead was third with a time of 45.55.
4x100 meters: Mount Gilead’s B team took first with a time of 45.20. The team included Collin Gabriel, Logan High, Jonathan Miller and Quade Harris. Centerburg A (Blane Ball, Trevin Harris, Maren Mead and Mason Turske) was second with a time of 45.30, and Highland A (Sam Hernandez, Malin Fictner, Brayden Benedict and Branson Newsome) was third with a time of 47.52.
4x200 meters: Mount Gilead A (Jonathan Miller, Logan High, Collin Gabriel and Quade Harris) took first with a time of 1:35.01. Highland A (Gavin VanWinkle, Toby Rogers, Brayden Benedict and Branson Newsome) was second with a time of 1:39.8 and Centerburg A (Cruz Clayton, Andy Cornejo, Miles Marshall and Jaydon Joiner) was third with a time of 1:42.17.
4x400 meters: Highland A (Zane Sheets, Matthew Miller, Aron West, Toby Rogers) was first with a time of 3:44.01; Mount Gilead B (Owen Hershner, Liam Stalnaker, Wyatt Mowry and Will Baker) was second with a time of 3:50.02; and Centerburg A (Chase Netting, Nathan Dickhof, Alex Riegel and Greg Beard) was third with a time of 3:50.62.
4x800 meters: Highland A (Matthew Miller, Zane Sheets, Owen Winkelfoos, Liam Delaney) was first with a time of 9:11.40; Mount Gilead A (Joshua Davis, Nathan Smith, Ryan Swalley and Tommy Emberg) was second with a time of 9:39.92; and Centerburg A (Ethan Jackson, Andrew Dickhof, Carter Netting and Cameron Riley) was third with a time of 9:41.24.
Shot put: Ladon Hayes of Highland had a toss of 45 feet, 9.5 inches for first; Evan Keib of Mansfield Christian had a distance of 42 feet, nine inches for second; and Griffin McClelland of Mount Gilead was third with a distance of 42 feet, 1.5 inches.
Discus: Nathaniel Caudill of Centerburg won gold with a toss of 142 feet, eight inches; Keib of Mansfield Christian was second with a toss of 138 feet, seven inches; Gauge Shipman of Mount Gilead was third with a distance of 133 feet, one inch.
High jump: Owen Winkelfoos of Highland had a leap of five feet, eight inches for first; Josh Burnaugh of Mount Gilead was second with a height of five feet six inches; and Trevin Harris of Centerburg was third at five feet, six inches.
Pole vault: Highland swept the pole vault medals, with Darren Styer in first with 12 feet; Kieran Taylor in second at 11 feet, six inches; and Jett Black in third with a height of 10 feet.
Long jump: Aron West and Sam Hernandez of Highland took first and second place, with respective distances of 17 feet, 3.5 inches and 17 feet, three inches. Jeiel Phillips of Mansfield Christian was third with a distance of 17 feet, two inches.

100 meters: Audrey Weaver of Highland took the gold with a time of 13.83. Lacy Defrancisco of Mansfield Christian was second with a time of 13.92 and Danielle Pohlkotte of Mount Gilead was third with a time of 13.99.
200 meters: Rozzalyn Benedict of Highland was first with a time of 28.56; Faith White of Mount Gilead was second with a time of 28.67 and Defrancisco of Mansfield Christian was third with a time of 28.97.
400 meters: Highland swept the 400 meter race top three, with Iliana Men-Hartley in first with a time of 1:06.70; Reagan Maibech in second with a time of 1:07.80 and Camryn Miller in third with a time of 1:10.40.
800 meters: Centerburg’s Payton Tucker was first with a time of 2:48.13, while Kendal Kline and Korlyn Miller of Highland were second and third with times of 3:01.59 and 3:01.95 respectively.
Mile: Kimberly Staley of Mount Gilead was first with a time of 5:45.31; Meagan Them was second with a time of 5:54.58 and Kindylle Mallow of Highland was third with a time of 6:12.81.
100 meter hurdles: Darbie Dillon of Mount Gilead was first with a time of 18.04; and Ava Fichtner and Abbie Pruett of Highland took second and third with times of 18.47 and 19.11.
300 meter hurdles: Dillon of Mount Gilead completed the hurdles sweep, taking gold with a time of 54.26. Mount Gilead’s Kenlee Trainer was second with a time of 55.77 and Highland’s Abbie Pruett was third with a time of 56.78.
4x100 meters: Mount Gilead A (Mackenzie Mosier, Natalie Waugh, Baylee Snyder and Faith White) won the race with a time of 54.66. Highland A (Bri Guedry, Abbie Pruett, Ava Williams and Lillia Roesky) were second with a time of 58.26; and Centerburg A (Alliyah Marcinko, Grace Neighborgall, Olivia Griffith and Mckenzie Nelson) were third with a time of 59.25.
4x200 meters: Mount Gilead A (Darbie Dillon, Kendall Neal, Faith White, Danielle Pohlkotte) took first with a time of 1:55.99. Highland A (Rozzalyn Benedict, Iliana Men-Hartley, Kendal Kline and Audrey Weaver) were second with a time of 1:57.41. Centerburg A (Olivia Griffith, Allison Moore, Mckenzie Nelson, Aliyah Marcinko) was third with a time of 2:09.84.
4x400 meters: Highland A (Kindylle Mallow, Lillia Roesky, Riley Matthews, Iliana Men-Hartley) was first with a time of 4:49.26; Centerburg A (Payton Tucker, Audrey Garner, Claire Hill, Meredith Nash) was second with a time of 5:08.28; Mount Gilead A (Haley Pfeifer, Kimberly Staley, Adriana Hershner and Sophie Mosher) was third with a time of 5:17.29.
4x800 meters: Highland A (Kindylle Mallow, Riley Matthews, Reagan Maibech and Camryn Miller) as first with a time of 11:07.34. Mansfield Christian A (Deborah Crouch, Emily Davis, Leah Robinson and Meagan Them) was second with a time of 12:36.87.
Shot put: Emma Bolton of Highland was first with a distance of 29 feet, six inches; Kynzie Green of Highland was second with a toss of 28 feet, 5.75 inches; Margaret Hennell of Highland was third at 28 feet, three inches.
Discus: Abby Leonhard of Mount Gilead was first with a toss of 104 feet, 10 inches; Hennell was second with a toss of 101 feet, one inch; Kynzie Green was third with a distance of 97 feet, 10 inches.
High jump: Pohlkotte of Mount Gilead was first with a height of four feet, eight inches; Dillon of Mount Gilead was second at four feet, six inches; Zy Davis of Mansfield Christian was third with a height of four feet, four inches.
Pole vault: Ava Fichtner of Highland was first with a height of eight feet; Kenlee Trainer was second with a height of seven feet; and Kai Dillion was third with a height of six feet, six inches.
Long jump: Weaver of Highland was first with a distance of 14 feet, 2.75 inches; Benedict of Highland was second with a distance of 13 feet, six inches; and Olivia Long was third with a leap of 12 feet, seven inches.
