Partington leads Freddies to two KMAC sweep wins

Fredericktown (16-3, 11-0) is leading the KMAC as the season winds down, and last week the Freddies remained hot with a pair of sweeps over conference foes Mount Gilead (0-19, 0-11) and Northmor (11-8, 6-5), with setter Julia Partington stuffing the stat sheet.

Mount Gilead didn’t stand a chance in a three set rout by Fredericktown, with set scores of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-10. The Freddies were led by Lillian Rose with Cally Carpenter, with nine and eight kills apiece. Partington was outstanding from the serving line with eight aces, and the Freddies had 20 aces on the night as a team. Partington also had four digs and 23 assists.

Northmor made things interesting in the first set putting the game into extra points, but ultimately fell 28-26. Fredericktown came out in the second set and dominated 25-10 and then 25-17 in set three.

The Freddies were led by Carpenter with 11 kills and 15 digs, while Mya Bryant had nine kills and Ella Bouton added seven kills. Bryant and Bouton had five and four blocks respectively, while Rose had five blocks. Partington served well again with four aces, and also had eight digs and 34 assists. Taylor Bryant had 15 digs.
