Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary have formed a partnership that will allow students to complete both a Master of Ministry and a Master of Divinity degree. This collaboration will enable students to meet the coursework requirements for both programs.
According to a press release, students who finish graduate programs are permitted by the accrediting body, the Association of Theological Schools, to transfer appropriate credit hours towards their next degree program. As a result, Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) will identify candidates before they complete their degrees and help them transfer 27 of the 30 hours of their Master of Ministry coursework towards Nazarene Theological Seminary's (NTS) required 76 hours for its Master of Divinity degree.
"We are better together, and this opportunity allows students to learn from experts and grow in their faith during their time at both MVNU and NTS. Through this partnership, students will earn a Master in Ministry from MVNU and have an affordable path to a Master of Divinity from NTS,” said Amy Kovach, MVNU vice president for Academic Affairs.
The two institutions will collaborate to ensure that the coursework meets the necessary requirements and is transferable between both schools. Additionally, faculty mentors will assist MVNU students in transitioning smoothly to their Master of Divinity program at NTS.
