New Philadelphia's Keaton Fausel leads team to 21-10 victory over Madison Comprehensive

New Philadelphia’s (5-2, 4-1) Keaton Fausel threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in a 21-10 win over OCC rival Madison Comprehensive (0-7, 0-4) on Sept. 29.

In the first quarter Fausel connected Carson Long for a 30-yard touchdown pass to make it a 6-0. Then in the second quarter, the Rams responded and took a 7-6 lead on a 58-yard touchdown pass from Cameron Kuhn to Grayson Sasis.

In the third quarter Madison Comprehensive went up 10-6 on a field goal, but Fausel connected with Long for 35 yards in the fourth quarter to go up 14-10, with a two point conversion good. Fausel put the nail in the coffin with a 77-yard run, and an Aidan Mushrush kick put them up 21-10 for the win.

Fausel was 17-for-23 for 180 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He ran the ball 14 times for 177 yards and a touchdown. Long had six catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns.

For Madison Comprehensive, Sasis caught six passes for 144 yards and a touchdown. Kuhn was 10-for-19 for 179 yards, one touchdown and two picks. Zach Rothrock had 11 tackles with three for a loss, and also had a pair of interceptions.
