H.S. Football: Davis hits 100 yard receiving mark in 28-0 East Knox win over Mount Gilead

East Knox (4-2, 3-0) scored a touchdown in every quarter with Bracen Davis hitting the century mark in reception yards in a 28-0 win over KMAC rival Mount Gilead (2-4, 0-3) on Friday.

Davis scored on a 38-yard touchdown pass by Jax Lester in the first quarter, and a Will Jensen extra point made it 7-0. In the second quarter, Lester hit Davis again for a 22-yard touchdown. Jensen hit the extra point making it 14-0 at halftime. Blake Elliott got in on the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown followed by a Jensen extra point. Lester then took the ball in himself on a 34-yard run, that was followed by the fourth extra point of the day for Jensen to secure the victory.

Lester was 13-for-19 for 155 yards and two touchdowns. He also had nine carries for 96 yards and a rushing touchdown. Elliott had 10 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. Davis caught seven passes for 100 yards, and two touchdowns. Bryar Householder added four catches for 36 yards.

Householder was the leader on defense for East Knox, with nine total tackles and a sack. Davis had a pair of tackles and an interception. Elliott had a team high 11 tackles.

East Knox’s offense was far superior to the Mount Gilead squad, with a 354-144 yard advantage. They had 155 yards in the air and 199 rushing yards, while Mount Gilead had 61 passing yards and 83 rushing yards.

East Knox looks to make it four wins in a row on Friday, with a road matchup against Northmor at 7 p.m. Mount Gilead travels to Centerburg on Friday at 7 p.m.
