A fatal traffic accident occurred on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:06 PM on State Route 3 near milepost 23 north of Mount Vernon in Knox County. The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
Joseph Morr, a 30-year-old resident of Mansfield, Ohio, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer southwest on State Route 3 when he veered off the left side of the road. His vehicle struck a ditch before hitting a tree, overturning, and colliding with a building. Morr was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
The involvement of alcohol or drugs has not been determined at this time. The Ohio State Highway Patrol received assistance from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe Township Fire Department at the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
