The Mount Vernon Fighting Jackets football program is inviting young quarterbacks to participate in a skills evaluation event.
On Saturday, July 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., the Yellow Jackets will host their "Youth QB University" at the stadium. The event is designed for aspiring quarterbacks in grades 3 through 6 and will be led by the Mount Vernon varsity football coaching staff. The camp aims to assess four core quarterback qualities: speed, mental sharpness, leadership, and football IQ.
According to Coach Mark Weber, each participant will receive an overall performance rating along with a personalized improvement plan to aid their development both on and off the field.
"Whether you’re already in tackle football or coming from flag, we want to see you compete," said Weber. "This is where the best are built, and we’re excited to see the next generation of Fighting Jackets."
No registration is required for this event; players are encouraged to simply show up ready to learn, lead, and play. The event is open to all youth athletes who aspire to take snaps under center in black and gold. For questions, contact Coach Weber at mweber@mvcsd.us.
