Fredericktown (9-1, 4-0) hosted Licking Valley (5-5, 3-3) last week in a non-conference matchup, and the Freddies continued their dominant play with a 3-1 win over the Panthers on Monday night.
The first set was close, with the Freddies beating Licking Valley 25-22. Fredericktown went up 10-5 when Jill Bouton blocked a shot at the net and landed for a kill. She struck again from the serving line on an ace to make it 14-7. The Panthers battled back to 20-17, but Bouton had another block/kill to go up 21-17. Lillian Rose had a kill to go up 23-17 and Mya Bryant made it 25-22 on a kill.
Set two started with a block/kill by Lillian Rose, and an ace by Taylor Bryant to go up 2-0. Mya Bryant made it 13-8 on a spike kill and Ella Bouton won the match with a kill, making the score 25-18.
Licking Valley battled for a 25-17 win in the third set, but then the Freddies completed the win with a 25-18 set four highlighted by block/kills by Ella and Jill Bouton.
