Mount Gilead (2-1, 0-0) had no problem with Grove City Christian (2-1, 0-0) on Friday night, blanking the Eagles in a 22-0 win.

Mount Gilead scored three touchdowns all on runs, one in the first quarter for nine yards by Mason Barnum, then the third quarter by Eliot Jones for four yards, and a seven-yarder in the fourth quarter by Carson Trainer.

Mount Gilead did most of their damage on the ground with 318 rushing yards. The Indians added 43 passing yards for 361 total yards on offense. Grove City only managed 68 rushing yards and 69 passing yards for 137 total yards. Third down conversions were a major advantage for the Indians, who went 9-for-13 while the Eagles went 2-for-10.

Cole Fricke had 18 carries for 124 yards to lead the rushing attack. Barnum had 14 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown. Jones ran 10 times for 45 yards and a score. Trainer had eight rushing attempts for 68 yards and a touchdown. Fricke was 4-for-7 passing for 43 yards and two interceptions. Gabe Simpson caught two passes for 24 yards.
