The Mount Vernon Donatos celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this month.
The restaurant opened as a company restaurant on Dec. 6, 1992.
How many businesses can boast that their first hire is still with them 30 years later? Amy Owens started working at the restaurant the day before it opened and has been there the entire time; she now serves as the general manager. Shad Bockover joined the team a little over six years later and is now the lead driver and a shift runner.
The Rose family purchased the Mount Vernon location on Aug. 22, 2005, when Donatos began to franchise restaurants. Chris Rose remains as the owner.
The restaurant recently went through a major renovation, which included adding a pick-up window and completely refreshing the interior.
