The American Red Cross is calling for blood and platelet donations to address a decline in donor turnout this fall. The organization encourages donors of all blood types to schedule appointments at Red Cross donation centers or community drives. To show appreciation, those who donate between October 27 and November 16, 2025, will receive $20 in e-gift cards and be entered into a drawing for one of three $5,000 prizes. More details can be found at RedCrossBlood.org/Harvest.
In recognition of National Diabetes Awareness Month in November, the Red Cross will offer free A1C testing with successful donations. This test helps screen for prediabetes and diabetes, contributing to community health awareness.
