Mount Gilead’s Will Baker followed Indians’ graduate Michael Snopik as the 2022 KMAC boys Cross Country Runner of the Year (Snopik won in 2021), and Fredericktown’s Elsa Hoam, a first team selection last year, was the girls Cross Country Runner of the Year – Mount Gilead’s Michaela McGill won it in 2021.
Mount Gilead’s Jake Hayes was again XC Boys Coach of the Year, and Fredericktown’s Bob Geiger repeated as XC Girls Coach of the Year.
In Golf, Bennett Hill of Centerburg took the 2022 KMAC Golfer of the Year honor ahead of last year’s winner, Will Streby of Fredericktown; and Centerburg’s Nathan Altizer repeated as KMAC Golf Coach of the Year.
The Knox Morrow Athletic Conference (KMAC), consisting of the Cardington-Lincoln, Centerburg, Danville, East Knox, Fredericktown, Highland, Mount Gilead and Northmor high schools and middle schools along with affiliate members Loudonville (football) and Elgin (girl’s Golf), announced the following 2022 All-League award winners and team champions for Cross Country and Golf. In addition, the KMAC recognized one senior from every school for every sport as an All-Academic winner. The All-Academic winner must have a GPA of at least 3.5.
