With season play winding down and playoffs ahead in the Mount Vernon co-ed softball league, Bad Company is on top of the standings at 9-1, followed by Farrell’s/JMT at 9-2 and Maximum Nutrition at 9-2. The Hangout is in fourth at 8-3, and Coffing Electric is fifth with a 5-4 record.

Coffing Electric 12, J Gorsuch Construction 2

Coffing Electric jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.

Coffing Electric was led by Dillon Randall, who had a huge day with an inside-the-park home run. He narrowly missed the cycle, as he hit a double and single in an all-around great performance at the dish. Kenny Darr had three hits in the game, with a double and two singles. Brandon McLaughlin hit a pair of singles for J Gorsuch.

A-Plus Auto Brokers 26, Peppy’s Pizza 10

Peppy’s Pizza had a 3-1 lead going into the third inning against A Plus AutoBrokers, but the bats woke up for A Plus with five-run innings in the third and fourth, a four-run inning in the fifth and an 11-run closing frame.

A Plus was led by Mose Miller, who homered twice and singled. Marc Walter homered and singled twice. Dave Murphy smashed a homer and doubled. Emily Murphy hit four singles in the game. Anthony Miller tripled and singled twice.

Peppy’s Pizza was led by Brock Talbot, who had a great day at the plate with a pair of homers along with two doubles. Justin Parker homered, doubled and singled twice. Jarred Darr tripled, doubled and singled.

Farrell’s/JMT 43, Sky Climber 2

Farrell’s/JMT put on an offensive spectacle against Sky Climber, starting the game with a 20-1 lead in the first inning, on the way to a huge 43-2 win. In the fourth inning, Farrell’s/JMT exploded again – this time for 15 runs.

Jamie Hill had a huge day at the plate, blasting a home run but also hitting three doubles and singling twice. Ericca Herzog belted a pair of triples, doubled and singled. Rachel Geoppinger hit four singles and doubled. Zach Pinkerton missed a cycle by a home run, as he tripled, doubled and singled once. Bryce Geiger smashed three doubles and singled three times. Ethan Abel singled three times and doubled. Zack Calabretta doubled once and hit three singles. Kayleigh Beheler and Cole Pinkerton each hit four singles, and Haley Rook also singled three times.

There were only singles for Sky Climber with the following players hitting a single apiece: Avery Price, Derek Smith, Kiarra Brim, Danny Edmond, Celena Garcia, Lee Stainbrook, Josh Preece and Brandi Palms.

The Hangout 11, Local 97 8

The game was tied going into the seventh inning, when The Hangout scored three runs to take an 11-8 win.

Leading the way for The Hangout was Anthony Whitt, who narrowly missed a cycle by smashing a homer and hitting a single and double. Jared Stover hit three singles and doubled. Colten Finnell hit a triple in the game.

Local 97 was led by Montana Walker, who showed off some speed with an inside-the-park home run and also singled and doubled. Devon Shortridge also homered, doubled and singled.

Circulo Health Services 15, Outkast 10

Circulo was led by Kohl Perkins, who homered and doubled. Bo Boucher had a double and three singles. Austin Priest hit four singles. Josh Eckert hit a pair of doubles for Outkast. Trevor Dickerson hit a double and singled.
