Four Mount Vernon Area youth soccer players attended the first Crew Futures Training Program at historic Crew Stadium.

The Columbus Crew competes in Major League Soccer as a member of the league's Eastern Conference, and the local players attending the program were Maddie Kelling, Lila Witham, Carter Hawkins and Colton Farr, all players from Mount Vernon’s All Out Soccer Club, a ministry of New Life Church.

This opportunity was extended to all Crew Youth affiliates, of which All Out Soccer Club is a part. Players who attended were trained directly by members of the Columbus Crew Academy coaching staff, challenging their skills against some of the best young soccer players across central Ohio and the Columbus Crew Youth Network. Players will take part in these training sessions every Friday night for the remainder of the month of September.

Zach Ganzberg, MVNU men’s soccer coach and All Out SC technical director, said he sees inspiration coming from the program.

"Training with the Crew is yet another pivotal moment for soccer in our community," Ganzberg said. "We’ve seen tremendous signs of growth in the past year, but this is especially significant. Memories and experiences like these help to inspire the next generation of soccer players to reach for the ultimate heights of the game. I’m very proud to have our All Out SC players represent the community so well.”
