MOUNT VERNON – Roger L. Brown, 50, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He wasborn on Nov. 10, 1971, in Mount Vernon, the son of Ralph and MaryLou (Gorley) Brown.
Roger graduated from Mount Vernon High School and the Knox County Career Center in1990. He married his high school sweetheart Lisa (Davis) Brown in 1991. Roger worked for the Electric Motor Service which he later owned and operated. Roger also had a long law enforcement career. He held many different job positions with the Knox County Sheriff's Office and later went on to be the Chief of Police at Fredericktown before he retired in 2018.
Roger loved getting family and friends together. This was an excuse to show off his excellent cooking skills. He also enjoyed camping, motorcycling, and most recently boating on a pontoon.
Roger is survived by his son, Lucas (Kori Baughman) Brown, father, Ralph Brown, sisters, Wendy Brown, Tracey (Kava) Pohahau, Pam Baughman, brothers David (Christi Hawkins) Weatherall, Bobby (Angie Crouch) Breece, Doug (Kathy) Brown, Dean (Billie) Brown and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his former wife Lisa (Davis) Brown and former in-laws Jr (Sandy) Davis.
Roger is preceded in death by his mother MaryLou (Gorley) Brown.
In keeping with Roger's wishes, the family will have a private graveside service. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernonis honored to serve the family of Roger L. Brown.
