The Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) is reinventing its two engineering programs to equip workers with skills that will soon become critical to the state's workforce.
Last January, Intel announced that it is developing two semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Licking County, according to a press release. The development is predicted to create 3,000 permanent jobs in the region and boost Ohio's economy.
Intel also announced that 70% of the Ohio workforce will be hired at the associate degree level. To this end, COTC is offering two engineering degrees, the associate of applied science in engineering technology and the associate of applied science in electrical engineering technology and an industrial electrician certificate.
These convenient and affordable two-year degrees will offer graduates the training and skills they need to quickly prepare them for in-demand careers.
COTC offers more than $1 million in scholarships annually, making college an affordable option for a broad range of students.
Visitors can find more information about the engineering programs at cotc.edu/engineering-technology-careers. COTC is now accepting applications for the autumn semester, which begins on Aug. 24.
