FREDERICKTOWN – The Fredericktown Senior Citizens met on Wednesday, April 13, at noon at the Fredericktown Municipal Building for a potluck dinner. Present were 22 seniors and one child. Linda Shira had the opening prayer.

At 12:40 p.m., Margaret Ann Ruhl started the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Ruhl, secretary, then read the minutes of the last meeting. Phyllis Shira, treasurer, reported no change in the balance.

Sue James reported the first bus trip will be Friday, April 15, to LaComedia in Springboro for the Music Man. Upcoming trips are to Wheeling, West Virginia, Cleveland and Hartsville. 

Celebrating a birthday is Pat Davis. No anniversaries or deaths reported for March or April.

Vonda Turner reported that the history books for the Fredericktown Senior Citizens are at the Fredericktown Historical Center, if you want to look at them.

Guest speaker was Sarah Auhard, president of the Fredericktown Area Development Foundation. It is a very active group of businesses and individuals interested in seeing Fredericktown grow and develop. They work on all the events happening in and around Fredericktown. They meet once a month in the mornings and quarterly in the evening. They are responsible for the 43019 magazine that all the people in that zip code receive for free, due to the excellent sponsorship.

Next meeting will be May 11 with EMS Chief Rick Lanuzza speaking and a potluck lunch at noon.
