The Knox Morrow Athletic Conference has named its top bowlers for 2021-2022.

For the boys, Bowler of the Year was Silas Horton of Cardington-Lincoln, who posted a 213.8 average, and Coach of the Year honors went to Chip Pozderac of East Knox and Joe Borders of Crestline. Winning Tournament team honors went to Will Jensen of East Knox.

During a boys bowling season in which Crestline went 11-3 and East Knox was 10-4 during conference play, and East Knox won the tournament over Crestline by seven pins, with Fredericktown third 42 pins behind the leader, EK saw two Bulldogs named to the first team and fourth-place Mount Gilead also has two bowlers on the top squad. Named to the first team all-league for boys bowling are Horton; Jensen; Dylan Farrell, Mount Gilead; Cole Postell, Northmor; Graham Shelbourne, Mount Gilead; Dylan Reed, East Knox; Justin Zollars, Fredericktown; and Tyler Rose, Cardington-Lincoln.

Second team honorees were Cardington-Lincoln’s Zane Everly, Centerburg’s Zachary Jagger, Crestline’s Cody Griffin, Blake Guiler and Hunter Gibbons, Ridgedale’s Jason Callahan, Mount Gilead’s Wyatt Irwin and Fredericktown’s Chase Keyes.

Honorable mention went to Brady Heskett and Dalton Hall of Centerburg, Nick Huber of Crestline, Ryan Zollars and Wayne Griffin of Fredericktown, Austin Layer of Mount Gilead, Wesley Hammond of Northmor and Kaleb Edwards of Ridgedale.

All-academic honors went to Keian Reed, Cardington-Lincoln, Dalton Hall, Centerburg, Lucas Barnard, East Knox, Justin Zollars, Fredericktown and Richard Kindred, Ridgedale.

In girls bowling, Northmor had the top conference mark at 13-1, followed by Fredericktown at 11-3. The Golden Knight won the conference tournament by 238 pins over Cardington-Lincoln. Bowler of the Year was Northmor’s Kourtney Rinehart with a 191.3 average, Coach of the Year was Northmor’s Russ Montgomery, and Winning Tournament Team honors went to Northmor’s Emily Ball.

The C-L Pirates placed two girls on the KMAC first team – Payton Goodman and Syndie Wilson. Ridgedale also had two first-teamers –Gracian Daugherty and Aubrie Smith. Also on the first team were Rinehart, Fredericktown’s Ana Kraus, Centerburg’s Madi Dennis and Mount Gilead’s Ashleah Levings.

Girls second team honors went to Centerburg’s Catherine Elfrink, Crestline’s Marissa Black, East Knox’s Chloe Stevens, Fredericktown’s Pink Payne, Mount Gilead’s Mikayla Meyer and Northmor’s Kahlan Ball and Taylor Cantrell.

Honorable mention went to Cardington-Lincoln’s Alexis Crone, Crestline’s Lily Riddle, East Knox’s Olivia Nastase, Fredericktown’s Samantha Carwell , Mount Gilead’s Sam Sellers, Northmor’s Emily Ball and Emma Rinehart and Ridgedale’s Sofia Daugherty.

All-Academic honors were awarded to Syndie Wilson of Cardington-Lincoln, Catherine Elfrink of Centerburg, Samantha Carwell of Fredericktown, Tiernan Santos of Mount Gilead, Kahlan Ball of Northmor and Gracian Dougherty or Ridgedale.
