Pins fall at KMAC Bowling Tournament Bulldogs pace boys; Northmor outrolls girls

East Knox and Crestline, who finished 1-2 during the KMAC regular season in boys bowling with 10-3 records, finished 1-2 in the KMAC Bowling Tournament at Victory Lanes in Galion on Feb. 11. 

In the girls’ tournament the following day, Northmor, which finished the regular season at 13-1 with Fredericktown 10-3 in second, had no trouble in outclassing the field to capture the title.

The East Knox boys won their first-ever KMAC title by seven pins over Crestline, representing a complete turnaround from last season, in which the Bulldog bowlers went 0-12

Boys results showed East Knox and Crestline finishing in that closely contested result, just ahead of Fredericktown and Cardington-Lincoln.

Cole Postell of Northmor rolled the highest single game, at 254, and Cardington-Lincoln’s Silas Horton finished with the high series, at 639.

Bowlers with 200 games included Postell, Northmor, 254, Horton, Cardington-Lincoln, 244 and 206; Zachary Jagger, Centerburg, 224, Chase Keyes, Fredericktown, 217; Graham Sherbourne, Mount Gilead, 203, Wesley Hammond, Northmor, 202 and Brady Heskett, Centerburg, 201.

There were 14 bowlers with series scores above 500, led by Horton at 639; Postell at 596; Sherbourne at 570; Keyes at 564; Will Jenson, East Knox, 56,1 and Griffin Wayne, Fredericktown, 555.

During the season, Jenson had the highest game score at 269, followed by Sherbourne at 267, Crestline’s Blake Guilder at 262, Dalton Hall of Centerburg at 257 and Crestline’s Cody Griffin at 254. Hall finished with the top average at 208.70, followed by Jenson with a 202.25.

Northmor’s Kourtney Rinehart rolled the top single game among the girls, 226, and Payton Goodman of Cardington-Lincoln bowled the high series, at 597.

Two girls rolled above 200.  Rinehart with her 226, and Goodman did it twice, with scores of 204 and 201. Just missing were Mount Gilead’s Mikayla Meyer and C-L’s Syndie Wilson, who both bowled 199.

There were five girls with series scores above 500, led by Goodman's 597. Rinehart bowled a 558, Northmor’s Taylor Cantrell a 552, Ridgedale’s Gracian Daugherty a 537 Meyer a 504.

During the season, Wilson rolled the highest game at 241, followed by Rinehart at 239, Northmor’s Kahlan Ball at 232 and Daugherty at 231. Rinehart finished the regular season with the top average at 189.0, ahead of Goodman at 180.30 and Wilson at 178.67.
