NEWARK – Nancy Sue Johnson, 77, of Newark passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born in Newark on Oct. 12, 1944, to the late Russell and Bertha (Walker) Hickman.
Nancy retired from the Licking County Joint Vocational School and also worked in the family business, Farmers Wholesale in Utica. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, raising Suffolk sheep, and enjoyed friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, J.C. Johnson, whom she married March 21, 1964; her daughter, Sheryl Johnson; and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant brother Davey Hickman.
A graveside service honoring Nancy will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov, 17, at Wilson Cemetery 4254 Marion Road NE, Newark, OH 43055, Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
