Sally was active in the Knox County area in the 1970s and 1980s as the owner of Sally’s Sweet
Shoppe in Fredericktown, OH. An amazing cake artist, her wedding cakes were much sought after, even having customers move their wedding date if she was booked up for that weekend over a year out. She taught adult education classes in her shop as well as at the Knox County Joint Vocational School. Sally went to college in her 40s and earned a degree in Home Economics Education with plans to teach later, but she decided to put her education and experience to work for her family. She was an excellent cook and expert seamstress. Her favorite activities centered around her family, cooking meals, sewing clothes, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ got her through many hardships from her teens onward. She was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Columbus for 20 years. Known by all as “Mema,” she was a beloved member of the church.
