Positive cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in Knox County, with Knox Public Health reporting more than 60 new cases since last Friday, including 21 hospitalizations.

According to an Aug. 24 press release from KPH, most of the positive cases are among unvaccinated people, with around 13% having received at least one dose of vaccine.

KPH will conduct a vaccine clinic Thursday from 4-6 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Fiesta Mexicana on Coshocton Avenue. Fiesta will offer a deal of buy one entrée, get one half-price. The two-dose Pfizer vaccine will be available to anyone 12 years or older, regardless of where they live. Participants should bring their insurance card and photo ID. If seeking a second or third dose, also bring along your vaccination card. There is no charge for the vaccine.

In the meantime, KPH continues to offer the Pfizer vaccine by appointment at the agency’s main location, 11660 Upper Gilchrist Road. First and second doses are available, plus third doses for those who have compromised immune systems.

COVID-19 testing is also available at KPH either by appointment or via an at-home test kit. Test kits can be picked up at the front desk, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To make an appointment to be tested for COVID-19 or receive the COVID-19 vaccine, call 740-399-8008.
