MVGSL roundup: Big 1st inning leads VFW by Lady Pups in 6U finale

Lady Pups pushed 12 runs across the plate in the top of the first inning, but VFW came back with eight in the bottom half and rolled from there to a 23-13 win to finish off the Mount Vernon Girls Softball League 6U play on June 23 at Memorial Park.

VFW got three hits apiece from Harper Black, Caroline Biggerstaff, Harper Higgins, Paisley Hoar, Adelyn Hull, Kinley Kandel Reid Leigh Leach, Karalyne Reynolds, Matilda Sulzer, Addison Taylor, Taylor Tyson and Lila Witham.

Rhylee-Ann Sapp, Charlotte Hoobler, Gianna Mack, Grace Alspach, Paisley Wyatt, Rhylei Kelly, Reagan McGinnis and Kinslee Howard each clubbed three hits for Lady Pups.

John’s Plumbing 18, M&K 13

John’s Plumbing overcame a four-run deficit with an eight-run first inning and out-slugged M&K to an 18-13 win on June 22.

Gwen McCann, Addison Flack, Elyse Graham, Emily Holler, Reese Rowland, Jordan Messerly, Cora McMillan, Rowan Doud, Rachel Boyd and Abigail Proctor each had three hits to lead John’s Plumbing.

Lauren Donaugh, Ezra Childs, Emma Green, Sophia Popham, Alivia Johnson, Malia Rieman, Kahli Trammell, Elena Ruggles, Shannon Fletcher, Faith Hays and Everly Perry had three hits apiece for M&K.

TSO 14, MowTown Lawncare 11

TSO rallied for four runs in the third inning to overtake MowTown 14-11 on June 21.

Ellie Butsko, Roslyn Green, Bella Bonillas, Kenslie Jacobs, Reese Fletcher, Myla Butler, Brynleigh Amyx and Rami Doan had three hits to lead TSO. Ari Keen and Kendall Clark added two hits each and Callie Potts added a hit.

Caroline Gearhart, Isla Anderson, Carenna Swallow, Miley Richert and Payten Wheeler-Horlacher each had three hits for MowTown. Madison Evans, Amelia Gearhart, Madelyn Frazier and Teagan Riley each added two hits and Kalli Jenkins chipped in a hit.
