HOWARD – Naomi Joann Dunmire, 88, of Howard, passed away on March 11, 2021, at her residence. She was born to Rutherford Benjamin and Hazel (Noland) Frederick of Hocking County on April 29, 1932.
Joann was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon, but regularly attended the Millwood Church of Christ. For over 50 years, she and husband Ralph resided in Nashville, Tennessee, and traveled all over the United States singing at camp meetings and revivals for the Nazarene Church, even recording three albums.
She is survived by her brother, Wesley Bresee (Margaret) Frederick of Columbus; son, Ralph (Donna) Dunmire Jr. of Howard; two grandsons, Ralph (Jessica) Dunmire III of Columbus and Bradley (Amy) Dunmire of Mansfield; two step-grandchildren, Jennie Horn and Ryan (Jerica) Horn of Mount Vernon; great-granddaughters, Aria Dunmire, Ivy Dunmire and Emmaline Dunmire; great-grandson, Greyson; and step-great-granddaughters, Averie West and Elliott Horn.
Joann was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Dunmire Sr; her parents; a brother, Max Wellington Frederick; a grandson, Anthony Dunmire; daugher-in-law, Marsha Brown-Dunmire; and sister-in-law, Pauline Frederick.
The family will be having a private graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Columbus.
