MOUNT VERNON – Main Street Mount Vernon Marketing Committee announces the Mount Vernon Strong Campaign. Mount Vernon Strong is a mindset, a motivational concept and a show of support all in one.
As we continue through COVID-19, we are entering Year Two of the pandemic. Along with the struggles our first responders and health care workers are facing each day fighting the virus, students and teachers have trying days, and small businesses face new challenges every day. That being said, the Main Street Marketing Committee has started the Mount Vernon Strong campaign to not only show our support to those who have stayed resilient over the past year, but also motivate these local heroes to continue this strength to the finish line.
We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and the Marketing Committee wishes to invite Mount Vernon and the Knox County community to join us for this campaign.
To kick off the campaign, Main Street will be honoring those who have remained Mount Vernon Strong this past year with the first Mount Vernon Strong gear. Check our Facebook page to see who we've already honored.
Olivia Toth, Marketing Committee chair and marketing manager of the Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau, fell in love with the campaign from the start.
“Mount Vernon Strong creates a more cohesive community,” she said. “Rallying together to show support for the heroes that go unsung in their daily lives, and keeping our community striving toward an end goal is how Main Street Mount Vernon can make an impact; and this campaign will hopefully have a lasting impact on Knox County.”
Todd Taylor of Markt Apparel and Alyssa Lawrence of Kenyon College were also instrumental in getting this campaign up and running so early into 2021.
