Bowling roundup: Nelson leads Scots by Freddies in KMAC play

Highland’s Jackson Nelson scored the only 200 game of the Scots’ 1,857-1,623 win over Fredericktown in KMAC play on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Trio Lanes in Fredericktown.

Nelson rolled a game-high 205 and a series-high 397 to lead the Scots. Tucker Tague rolled a 342 series and Trevor Stewart backed him with a 338 series for Highland.

Justin Zollars led the Freddies with a 313 series and Griffin Wayne was close behind, rolling a 304 series.

Utica 1,961, Lakewood 1,925

Blake French’s game-best 222 led Utica to a narrow 1,961-1,925 victory over Lakewood in Licking County League play on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Redskin Lanes in Utica.

French rolled a 401 series, Eric Schroeder rolled a 341 series and Will Dunn backed them with a 306 series to lead Utica.

Hunter Weber led the Lancers with a 382 series and a team-best 215 game.

Mount Vernon 2,175, Utica 2,085

Trevor Bell rolled a game-high 226 and a series-high 408 to lead Mount Vernon to a 2,175-2,085 victory over host Utica in non-league play on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Redskin Lanes.

Trey Flowers added a 357 series and David Balling was close behind with a 337 series for the Yellow Jackets.

Blake French led Utica with a 394 series, and Matthew Geiger rolled a 338 series.

Utica 1,714, Northridge 1,708

Blake Crow’s 398 series led Utica to a narrow win over Northridge in Licking County League play on Monday, Dec. 7, at Park Lanes in Heath.

Crow rolled a 201 game to lead the team, and Ashton Walters backed him with a 365 series for Utica.

Will Dunn rolled a game-high 226 and led the Vikings with a 384 series. Teammate Blake French finished with a 370 series.

Northmor 1,813, Fredericktown 1,744

Cole Postell rolled a game-high 197 to lead the host Golden Knights to a 1,813-1,744 victory over Fredericktown in KMAC play on Monday, Dec. 7, at Victory Lanes in Galion.

Postell closed with a 379 series to lead all bowlers, and Joe Baldinger added a 320 series for Northmor.

Billy Woodring led the Freddies with a 303 series in the setback.

Big Walnut 2,353, Centerburg 1,776

John Wharton rolled a 336 series and Alex Grove had a 315 series, but Centerburg fell to host Big Walnut 2,353-1,776 in non-league play on Monday, Dec. 7, at Capri Bowling Lanes in Columbus.

Centerburg 1,839, East Knox 1,682

Jared Hamilton rolled a game-high 217 to lead the Trojans to a 1,839-1,682 KMAC win over host East Knox on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Colonial City Lanes in Mount Vernon.

Hamilton finished with a 398 series, John Wharton added a 353 series and Gavyn Stone rolled a 326 series to lead Centerburg.

Will Jenson rolled a 215 game and a series-high 408 to lead the Bulldogs.

Northmor 1,943, Mount Gilead 1,673

Zach Govoni rolled a game-high 191 to lead Northmor to a 1,943-1,673 win over Mount Gilead in KMAC play on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Morrow Lanes in Cardington.

Joe Baldinger led the Golden Knights with a series-high 377 and Govani was close behind with a 361.

Graham Sherbourne’s 344-series paced MG.

Girls bowling

Jace Kyle’s 344 series led Mount Vernon to a narrow 1,387-1,343 victory over host Utica in non-league play at Redskin Lanes on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Jordan Lacy, who rolled a game-best 213, led Utica with a 358 series;and Noel Frakes was close behind with a 340 series.

Lakewood 1,689, Utica 1,417

Elizabeth Leffman’s 332 series helped visiting Lakewood to a 1,689-1,417 victory over Utica in LCL play on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Redskin Lanes in Utica.

Leffman finished behind teammate Becca Price, who rolled a 367 series for the Lancers.

Meredith Pierpont rolled a 336, and Jordan Lacy backed her with a 332 series to lead Utica.

Fredericktown 1,732, Highland 1,680

Emma Stokes rolled a game-high 180 to lead the host Freddies to a win over Highland in KMAC play on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Trio Lanes in Fredericktown.

Stokes finished with a series-high 387, and Macey Neer backed her with a 316 series for Fredericktown.

Paige Hicks finished with a 331 series to lead the Scots.

Northmor 2,116, Fredericktown 1,590

The host Golden Knights not only got a well-rounded effort in a lopsided win over Fredericktown in KMAC play on Monday, Dec. 7 at Victory Lanes in Galion. But the Golden Knights also set a school record with their 2,116 team score.

The record surpassed the previous mark of 2,034 set during the 2017-18 season.

Maddie Hoverland rolled a game-high 209 and finished with a 399 series to lead Northmor. She was backed by Kourtney Rineholt (370), Emilie Drumm (364), Kristen Bittner (354) and Kahlan Ball (298).

McKenna Andrew rolled a 297 series and Macy Neer was close behind with a 291 series to lead the Freddies.

Northmor 1,858, Mount Gilead 1,443

Maddie Hoverland’s game-high 210 and series-high 379 paced the Golden Knights to a win over Mount Gilead in KMAC action on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Morrow Lanes in Cardington.

Kourtney Rinehart (339 series), Kristen Bittner (319) and Emilie Dromm (305) were also solid for Northmor.

Ashleah Levings led Mount Gilead with a 286 series.

Big Walnut 1,619, Centerburg 1,318

Madi Dennis rolled a team-best 301 series, but Centerburg fell at Big Walnut 1,619-1,318 in non-league play on Monday, Dec. 7,at Capri Bowling Lanes in Columbus.
