East Burgess Street will be closed between N. Gay Street and N. McKenzie Street until 3:30 p.m. today, May 17.

Over 300 Ohio middle school students will bring a popular middle grade book to life at the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education’s (OCLRE) annual Middle School Mock Trial Showcase on April 27, April 28, and May 12 at the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center.

The Ohio State Bar Foundation presented Attorney Cynthia A. Cunningham, a partner in the Mount Vernon law firm of Kidwell & Cunningham Ltd., with the District 9 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under. The presentation occurred on April 12, at the Alcove Restaurant in Mount Vernon.

The Fredericktown Senior Citizens met on March 8, at 11:45 a.m. There were 19 members and guests with one child present for the potluck luncheon. Prayer was given by Paul James and then the Pledge of Allegiance.

Wayne Grange met on March 17, at 7 p.m. There were seven members, two children and four guests present. Master Bev Edwards opened the meeting.

Knox County Pomona Grange met on March 20, at Morgan Grange Hall. Master Lonnie Totten called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. with 24 members, two state officers and one guest present.

MOUNT VERNON — The city will post at least one open Public Works technician position for the Cemetery Department, and possibly a second for the Street Department.

Central Ohio residents are invited to take part in a community forum focusing on the impact of Alzheimer's disease and other dementia, where participants will learn about the tools and resources the Alzheimer's Association can provide to patients and caregivers.
