FREDERICKTOWN – The Fredericktown Senior Citizens met on March 8, at 11:45 a.m. There were 19 members and guests with one child present for the potluck luncheon. Prayer was given by Paul James and then the Pledge of Allegiance.

Jim Blanchard, director of the Fredericktown Recreation and Parks was our guest speaker. Blanchard talked about the upcoming changes in the parks, including the addition of Pickle Ball Courts at Merrin Park. The one-day bus trips offered for the senior citizens, are partly paid by this board. They sponsor six or seven buses through the year and it is very much appreciated. We may see some changes at the old Dana place and some changes at Sockman Lake on when they will be open this summer. All reservations for use of the parks are to be made through Blanchard or Glenda Stump.

President Ann Ullman called the meeting to order. Secretary Margaret Ann Ruhl read the minutes of the last meeting. Treasurer Phyllis Shira was not present, but reported the treasurer’s report by text.

Birthdays in the month of March were Nancy Cline and Paul James. One anniversary in March was Paul and Irma James. Everyone sang Happy Anniversary to them. No deaths to report in March.

Ann Ullman welcomed Irl and Carolyn Ruhl plus Renate Miller back to our meeting.

Old Business: Margaret Ann Ruhl announced the trips you can sign up for are May 17 to Cleveland Jack’s Thistledown Casino and Horse Racing and June 22 to the Cleveland Guardians Baseball game.
