Leonardo Peralta appointed field strategy coordinator for Mexico Field

Leonardo Peralta was appointed field strategy coordinator for the Mexico Field on July 14, 2026. The appointment was made by Global Missions Director Jim Ritchie, following the recommendation of Mesoamerica Region Director Jimmy De Gouveia and in consultation with Jurisdictional General Superintendent David Busic.

Peralta’s appointment will be effective October 1, 2026. He will succeed Jorge Córdova, who is retiring after serving as the Mexico Field strategy coordinator since 2009.

Leonardo Peralta and his wife, Verónica, are pastors of the Torre Fuente Church of the Nazarene in León, Mexico. They have served there since 2005. Peralta has also been superintendent of the Mexico West District since 2016.

Ordained in 2009, Peralta holds a bachelor’s degree in theology. He is currently part of the first cohort for a master’s degree in pastoral management and integral church development. He has also completed a master’s degree in pastoral counseling through Nuestro Pacto International University and earned a diploma in youth ministry.

Previously, Leonardo and Verónica Peralta served as church-planting missionaries in Colima for three years, where they established a small congregation. Together they have accumulated three years of missionary work experience, twenty years in pastoral ministry, and nine years in district leadership roles.

They have two adult children named Paola and Isai.
