The Knox County Fair continues its long tradition of celebrating agriculture, community, and family fun, drawing visitors from across the region to its Fairgrounds Road location.
The 177th Knox County Fair is scheduled for July 26 through Aug. 1, bringing a full week of entertainment, competitions, and family fun
Since 1849, the fair has grown from its humble beginnings at a local resident’s home to its current site, where it has been held since the 1920s. This year’s fair once again offers a lively mix of entertainment, including demolition derbies, tractor pulls, rodeos, musical performances, and vibrant 4-H competitions. The fair remains a cornerstone of Knox County’s heritage, providing opportunities for families to connect, celebrate local talent, and enjoy the sights and sounds of rural life. Livestock barns showcase draft horses, sheep, goats, cattle, and hogs, while visitors can explore local crafts and cuisine.
The fairgrounds will host daily events. Each day offers a mix of traditional agricultural showcases and modern entertainment, ensuring that visitors of all ages can find something to enjoy.
On opening day, Sunday, July 26, the Energy Cooperative Grandstand will feature the OSTPA Summer Clash Truck & Tractor Pull at 6 p.m., following the official opening ceremonies. Monday, July 27, focuses on harness racing, with afternoon and evening sessions, plus the popular Wiener Dog Races.
Tuesday, July 28, brings interactive Dino ROAR! shows, Celtic Fiddlers of Knox County, and the Diamond J Rodeo at 7 p.m., followed by an after-party with Luke Watson. Wednesday, July 29, features the Rough Truck Competition at 7 p.m., alongside more Dino ROAR! performances.
Thursday, July 30, highlights the Antique Tractor Parade at 4 p.m. and the Demolition Derby at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, is concert night, with The Roads Below performing at 7:30 p.m. and Eddie and the Getaway at 9 p.m. Visitors can also look forward to and support the Junior Fair Sale on the same day. Saturday, Aug. 1, closes the fair with kids’ games, youth pedal pulls, and the OSTPA Truck & Tractor Pull at 7 p.m.
The fairgrounds will open daily at 8:00 a.m., with gate admission set at $10.00 per person. Children 8 years and under receive free entry, while veterans and seniors can enter for $5.00 before 5:00 p.m. all week long. Special recognition days include Veterans Day on Wednesday, July 29, with free entry for veterans, and Senior Day on Thursday, July 30, with free entry for seniors.
Season passes are available for those planning to attend multiple days. An Adult Weekly Pass costs $50.00 for ages 19 to 64, while a Senior/Veteran Weekly Pass is $35.00 for ages 65 and older. Youth passes, for ages 9 to 18, are priced at $40.00. All parking at the fairgrounds is free, and guests can now conveniently pay with Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards.
Beyond scheduled events, guests can enjoy midway rides, local food vendors, craft exhibits, Junior Fair showcases, and agricultural displays.
