Mount Vernon High School said Mount Vernon High School announced that Superintendent Bill Seder and the Mount Vernon Board of Education will host their annual Senior Citizens Spring Luncheon on April 9 from 12 to 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium.

The event is open to all senior citizens in the community and aims to provide an opportunity for attendees to connect with the district and its schools. The luncheon is free of charge, featuring a meal prepared by the district's Food Service Department and entertainment provided by Mount Vernon High School students. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Thursday, April 2, by providing their name and a contact phone number, according to a news release by MVHS.

The Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education serves as the district's official policy-making body, working alongside the Superintendent and administrative team to oversee educational programs and student outcomes. The board consists of nine publicly elected members who each serve three-year terms on a volunteer basis without compensation, according to the Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education.
